Write for us
Creative Stage Journal welcomes pitches that help readers understand how creative work begins, develops, changes or reaches an audience. A useful proposal has a clear subject, a reader in mind and a reason to read it now or return to it later.
What we welcome
We consider original essays and explanatory pieces about creative ideas, materials, processes, revision and sharing. Strong proposals explore a distinct question, make room for nuance and give readers something to notice or consider without promising a universal formula.
Make the pitch specific
Tell us the working subject, the central point and what a reader will take away. Briefly explain the shape of the piece and why you are well placed to write it. Mention any visual material or outside contributions the idea would need. Please pitch an original approach rather than a finished article copied from elsewhere.
Send a proposal
Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include a concise pitch in the message so the idea is easy to assess. A proposal is not a promise of publication, and any terms or edits can be discussed if an idea is taken forward.
